Ashlee Simson is the sister of most famous singer Jessica Simpson. Ashlee was a dancer in her sisters concert. Before starting her singing career she played a role of Cicilia in the TV show 7th Heaven in 2004. It was her best performance. And people know her from that show.
After that in 2003 she sang a song Just Let Me Cry for the movie Freaky Friday. On 20th July 2004 her first album Autobiography was released. This album was too superhit it was at no. one for three weeks out of four selling over 398,000 copies during it's first release. First single from her album Pieces of Me was written about her and her boyfriend Ryan Cabrera. Her second single Shadow is about living in the shadow of her sister.
She also performed on the big screen by appearing in the February's film The Hot Chick (2002). She already had done some gust-starring role on the television in the Serial Malcolm in the Middle (2000). She also appeared on Saved by the Bell: The New Class (1993), The Rosie O'Donnell Show (1996), The View (1997), The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1992) and a Disney Christmas show and concert special.
Ashlee Nicole Simpson was born on 3rd October 1984 and raised in the Dallas suburb of Richardson, Texas. She is America's most famous pop singer and songwriter. She also an actress and a younger sister of pop singer Jessica Simpson.
Ashlee Simpson's father is Joe Truett Simpson who is a former Bapist youth minister and now he is her manager and mother Tina Ann Drew is a former Sunday School teacher. Her mother schooled her at home only.
She loves music very much and started studding classical ballet from the age of three only. When she was of 11 years old she was admitted to the school of American Ballet in the New York city for further study. At that time she was the only youngest person ever admitted to the prestigious School of American Ballet.
For six months Ashlee Simpson was suffered by anorexia nervosa and lost 70 pounds when she was of 5'2" tall. At the age of eleven her sister Jessica Simpson got a record deal and because of that her family moved to Los Angeles, California. There she appeared in various television commercials and appeared as one of backup dancer on Jessica's concert.
After that she got a role in the episode of the sitcom Malcolm in 2001, and in 2002 she had a minor role in the film The Hot Chick and a recurring role in the family drama series 7th Heaven. She also worked on TRL as a MTV VJ in the summer of 2003. After few years she recorded the song Just Let me Cry for the soundtrack of the movie Freaky Friday and signed a record deal with Geffen records.
Her first album Autobiography was very much popular and debuted at number one in the U.S. in July 2004. In the first week of it's release around 398,000 copies were sold. Rolling Stone magazine's Peter Relic wrote about Autobiography as a "mundane melange of Avril-ish brat pop and Sheryl Crow cod rock". And E! online characterized it as "Even if it doesn't wow you, Autobiography may surprise you." Her next album Pieces of Me was also hit in the summer days. But her two singles Shadow and La La were not that much successful.
Ashlee Simpson received two awards for the album Pieces of Me in 2004 one is Teen Choice Award as Song of the Summer and Fresh Face Award. She also got a Billboard Award for New Female Artist of the Year in December and later in January 2005 she won Entertainment Weekly's Breakout Star of 2004.
Ashlee Simpson was invited in the Saturday Night Live incident program but she was not able to perform in the show because of her vocal difficulties. The complications were arised because of sever variation in acid reflux she was advised not to sing by her doctor.
