On a tight schedule, Katy? Perry arrives at recording studio in an eye-watering LBD

Recording her new album in New York yesterday, Katy Perry clearly believes there's no excuse to dress down.
Arriving at a studio in Chinatown, New York, the I Kissed A Girl singer looked ready for a night out clubbing in a little black dress and killer heels.
The 25-year-old's dress was so tight in fact, onlookers could clearly see the outline of her strapless bra underneath.

Perry left fiance Russell Brand back at their hotel to hit the studio to record the follow-up to her 2008 breakout album One Of The Boys.
The upcoming LP will be her third album. She released her debut disc Katy Hudson, a gospel-rock album, in 2001.
Perry recently said she was focusing on recording her album first before she started making wedding plans for her nuptials to Brand later this year.

She said: 'Well, I have to plan my new album, first and then I'm going to get to my wedding - but I'm really excited about that, too.

'Russell is a real match for me - in previous relationships I feel like I've just steamrolled the guy, so it's nice to find someone I can't do that to.'
Perry hit the studio on Tuesday after spending the previous day apartment hunting in the Big Apple with Brand.
Their flat search comes just a few months after they bought a four-bedroom, 1920s house in the Hollywood Hills.

They are also looking for a new home in London after Brand put his £2.5million North London bachelor pad on the market.
Brand proposed to Perry after fewer than four months of dating on New Year's Eve, during a romantic trip to India's Taj Rambagh Palace hotel.

They are hoping to return to India later this year to tie the knot, Perry's friend and bridesmaid Rihanna revealed last week.
Rihanna told US radio DJ Ryan Seacrest during an interview on his KIIS FM show: 'She put (organising the hen night) on me last week.
'I have to come up with something cool because she's getting married in India so I'm like "OK, now what do I do to match that?"
'That's at the end of the year so we've got some time to plan that.'
The singer recently revealed that her long-haired fiancé had turned into a bridezilla who was obsessed with weddings.
She said: 'He's a total bridezilla. He's like a freak. He's always buying bride magazines.
'Every time we go out for breakfast, he's like "Can we just stop and get a bride magazine?"'
...Cut! Russell prepares for film role with a new look
Russell Brand is steeling himself for a trip to the barber for the sake of his Hollywood career.
While  he was able to keep his long-tressed look for his role as Aldous Snow in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him To The Greek, his upcoming part in the remake of 1981 classic Arthur requires drastic action.
Rebranded: Russell now and with shorter locks when an Essex boy aged 16
And the hirsute comic actor now realises that a trim will hopefully open up more film roles for him
Brand said: 'Normally, I play people where the only thing you need to change is my name.
'But for this, I'm going to change my hair a bit,' he told The Sun.
'I saw a mocked-up picture of how it would look and it didn't look good - like Natalie Portman with a beard.'
'If I'm going to pursue a career in films, I can't always play Rasputin.'
'I can play him once maybe, play Che Guevara, various homeless people and then it's going to have to be a haircut.'
And to help MailOnline readers imagine what he may soon look like, we've found a picture of him with nicely shorn locks as a teenager.

I've never had a problem with nudity, says proud-to-be-40 Catherine Zeta-Jones

She made a few hearts skip a beat when she peeled off her top for Antonio Banderas in Zorro.
But Catherine Zeta-Jones has largely frustrated her army of male fans by keeping a pretty modest profile in her acting roles.
However, she's no prude, as she proved by stripping off and sprawling across a bed for a racy photoshoot for an American women's magazine, Allure.

She shows she hasn't lost all her curves despite recent paparazzi pictures which suggested her frame was shrinking and prompted a few Catherine Zeta-Bones headlines.
CZJ says in the accompanying interview that she's proud of her body at the age of 40 - and always has been.
Mrs Michael Douglas, currently starring in Broadway show A Little Night Music in New York, was happy to drop the robe for the nude section of the shoot and says nudity is not an issue for her.

She then said: 'That's when your dancing days and being in theatre pay off.
'When you're doing a quick change, you don't give a s*** who sees you.'
However, while Zeta-Jones may be no shrinking violet, she revealed in an interview earlier this year how she is having to cover up more since moving to New York.
The Welsh actress told U.S. chatshow host David Letterman that she has had to stop running around her garden naked after moving from the privacy of Bermuda to bustling New York.

She told Letterman how she used to frolic nude at the sprawling Bermuda mansion where she lived with husband Michael Douglas, 65, and their children.
But these days her al fresco fun has ended since the family moved to the Big Apple last year.
In the interview with Allure she also revealed her plans for the future with her family, saying she would love to live on a boat and sail around the world. 'I wouldn't be surprised if [we do] that.'

Bill Wyman's former child bride Mandy Smith swaps clubbing for communion

True faith: Mandy Smith is now helping youngsters prepare for their Holy Communion
True faith: Mandy Smith is now helping youngsters prepare for their Holy Communion
In her teenage years she found notoriety as the schoolgirl girlfriend of Rolling Stone Bill Wyman.
Mandy Smith was just 13 when they began dating, 18 when they married and barely in her twenties when they divorced.
But the former wild child has found God - and says He is calling her to use her experiences to help young girls who covet a similar lifestyle.
Now a 39-year-old single mother and devout Roman Catholic who is working with the Church, she said in an interview: 'I think the younger generation are missing out on a good set of values.

'Sometimes I drive through the city on a Saturday night and see young girls wearing hardly any clothes on their way to a nightclub, while others are being sick on the pavement from binge drinking.
'I would never judge another person but I can identify with them.
'Many of these girls have no proper older role models. They take their values from some rubbish TV show or wannabe celebrities.'
Miss Smith has been teaching youngsters preparing for their first Holy Communion, working for several charities and mentoring teenagers preparing for their GCSEs.
She said she didn't want young women to make the same mistakes she did.
Young people need to learn better values and realise they don't need to fall out of pubs and clubs drunk, or for girls to throw themselves at boys, she added.
'I used to feel terribly guilty about the life I had left and felt there was no hope for me,' Miss Smith said.
'One day I received a letter from one of my old teachers, an amazing nun, who told me Jesus does not look at the mistakes I have made or the times I ignored him.
'They have passed. Returning to my Catholic faith has been so wonderful. I love being involved in my parish.'

Cause celebre: The former wildchild caused a sensation when she married the then 52-year-old Rolling Stone rocker Bill Wyman, she was just 18
She does not know if the 15 and 16-year- olds she has been mentoring as they prepare for exams are aware of her past.
But she said she would be happy to draw on it to offer them advice if they need it.

Devotee: Mandy, pictured here in December 1996, has found happiness with her revived interest in Catholicism

She told the Mail: 'I would never bully them into education, but I think it's important to give young people-some focus.
'I've experienced most things in my life, from every angle, and it doesn't make you any happier, nothing material makes you a better person.
'If I can help young kids now in some way, shape or form as they move forward then that's great.'
Miss Smith was seduced by bass player Wyman in 1984 and their relationship was initially kept a closely guarded secret.
He was 52 when they married in 1989, but within weeks they had separated and they divorced after just two years.
Later she had a two-year marriage to footballer Pat van den Hauwe, who was ten years older than her, before beginning a relationship with model Ian Mosby, with whom she had a son, Max, nine.
Miss Smith said she was well aware that her life is a world removed from the path she followed as a teenager.
She believes she saw Wyman as a 'father figure' and 'mentor' at a time when she was lonely.
Mandy Smith, pictured here in July 1994, said she was touched when she received a card from Cliff Richard during one stay in hospital and his message helped rekindle her interest in her faith
Faith: Mandy, pictured here in July 1994, said a message from Cliff Richard helped rekindle her interest in her faith
'I think a lot of young girls get into relationships and friendships because they are seeking a father figure,' she said.
She added: 'I'm nearly 40 now and I really enjoy what I'm doing. It's what I want to do, that's what life is about, doing what you enjoy. I feel like I've got a purpose.
'I'm not in a relationship, if one comes along fantastic, but I'm content.'
'In the darkest moments, I would cling to God, just saying his name over and over'
Miss Smith, who shares a flat in Manchester with her sister, with whom she runs a PR company, takes her son to church every Sunday.
She also attends mass twice a week and prays every day.
She volunteers for HomeStart, a family support organisation, and sees her role as offering reassurance and a 'friendly ear'.
The ex-model is also an ambassador for myplace, a government programme designed to create great places for young people to go.
