Penyanyi Britney Spears meraih suara terbanyak atas polling untuk pemilihan Greatest Gay Icon of All Time yang diadakan sebuah organisasi gay dan lesbian bernama Orange County Equality.

Pelantun hits 'Toxic' itu mendapatkan 31 persen suara dan jumlah perolehan suara Britney dapat mengalahkan sang idola, Madonna dan Lady Gaga.

"Popularitas Madonna di kalangan gay dan lesbian mulai pudar" ungkap Joel Waddell dari Orange County Equality. Hal itu disebabkan Madonna belum juga merilis album sejak 2008 lalu.

Madonna berada di peringkat dua, karena hanya mendapat 25 persen. Sedangkan Lady Gaga dan Katy Perry berada di peringkat tiga dan empat.
